Job Description

Looking for strong PMO Manager to join our Project Management Office in support of both business & IT projects and initiatives.  Reporting to the Director, IT Governance & PMO, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the PMO resources and services.

  • Oversight and tracking and monitoring of project progress for all IT projects within the portfolio.
  • Lead a team of 15 (employees & contractors) on day to day functions of a PMO with responsibility for their performance reviews and compensation planning. 
  • Assign projects to Project Managers and Business Analysts in the PMO.
  • Management of portfolio risks and issues, picking up on potential delivery issues early, with appropriate escalation.
  • Ensure project resource needs are addressed and managed and PMO Team members have a balanced workload.
  • Support establishment of a formal PMO department through mentoring of other team members.
  • Assist PMO Director where necessary in maturing IT Governance processes and practices and ensure compliance with PMO and project standards.
  • Using past industry experience is able to proactively make suggestions to the team on process improvements.
  • Build strong, open and collaborative working relationships characterized by mutual respect with superiors, peers and subordinates within and outside the company.
  • Resolve project issues and roadblocks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Work with Leadership Team to organize and manage IT Project portfolio.
  • Ability to effectively interact with individuals across business units and at various levels of the organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of Project Management methodologies (PMLC, SDLC, etc.) and ensure PM processes, discipline and controls are consistently applied to projects.
  • Ensure mitigation/contingency plans are in place for identified project risks.

  • Bachelor' s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of eight years of Project Management experience required with previous experience managing a PMO Team
  • PMBOK and/or BABOK experience and certifications   a plus
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work autonomously and have a proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent writing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to work on multiple projects at any given time in a fast paced environment
  • Must be flexible and able to cope with constantly changing priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite; with specific experience in Microsoft Project required.  Knowledge of SharePoint a plus
