Job Summary


The Business Analyst will help advance company’ s efforts in the area of process improvement by documenting business processes and defining, analyzing and documenting business requirements. The Business Analyst will follow PMI® standards and guidelines using established project templates and/or develop standards and templates where they do not exist. This role is business-facing but resides within the IT Program Management Office.



  • Facilitating process workshops that involve eliciting process requirements and liaising with users
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: (Functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), Use Cases, Use Interface Document)
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Work independently with users to define concepts and partner with Project Managers
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
  • Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Act as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams. Ability to work with all levels of the business.
  • Document processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement using various modeling techniques.
  • Monitoring, measuring and providing feedback on process performance
  • Help the business document Business Case, Project Charter, etc. and develop proof of concept for the strategic initiatives under your area of responsibility.
  • Document business rules and standards dictionary. Assist with development of business process procedures and job aids for training purposes.
  • Responsible to perform risk and impact (time/cost) analysis, GAP analysis, and validate process improvements for benefit realization.
  • Cross train other Business Analysts in process analysis techniques.
  • Must be able to carry out the project activities as stipulated by the IT Program Management Office.




  • Bachelor' s degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required


Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • At least 5 years of experience with formal Business Analysis
  • Proven track record with complex business process improvement projects.
  • Strong process orientation with significant attention to detail and ability to document complex business processes
  • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to participate in and lead " Virtual" teams
  • Knowledge of ERP, BPM, CRM and BI Tools.
  • Experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required
  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective Project Management skills
  • Business Analyst Professional certification preferred
  • BPM Certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
  • Expert in BPMN, UML, or other Modeling techniques.
