Job Summary

To facilitate the release of daily orders for accounts that are forced to credit “ hold”.  To create EFT’ s by leveraging Paymetrics software when appropriate for accounts on C.O.D. and or for accounts that prefer to make payment in the same manner.  To provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.  To support Credit Managers efforts to collect monies owed by making necessary calls as directed by Credit Manager.  To facilitate and maintain new account files during the approval process. To act as a liason between customer, Credit Manager, and Cash Apps as each situation / scenario dictates.  This position reports to:  Credit Project Manager in U.S. and Area Credit Manager in Canada


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • To act in an honest, ethical manner representing the best interest
  • To assist in the management of accounts which may include:  traditional accounts, National Accounts, international, big-box, out of channel etc
  • To assist in the timely collection of accounts receivable as directed
  • To provide exceptional internal and external customer service
  • To create spreadsheets and reconcile customer claims, disputes, chargebacks, unearned discounts, unapplied cash
  • To counsel customers in relation to their statement, invoice(s), credit / debit memo’ s, portal, payments et al.
  • To ensure the proper execution of  Security Agreements / UCC-1 Financing Statements and Personal Guaranty’ s
  • To facilitate the transmission of EFT’ s on customers behalf
  • To manage the release of orders forced to credit “ hold”
  • To facilitate and maintain new account files during the approval process
  • To maintain customer files in general
  • To facilitate requests and response with regard to trade references
  • To deliver Credit Safe reports and Equifax reports upon request
  • To facilitate the release of ACE & TV orders through their respective websites
  • To facilitate the release of special order / promotional orders
  • To manage process with regard to NSF checks
  • To send 10 Day Demand letters as directed
  • To execute credit limit changes as directed
  • To facilitate the collection of Resale Certificates to ensure proper set-up through Vertex
  • Monitor dating orders and limits
  • Update system notes w/ pay plans
  • Provide necessary documentation to third party collection agencies
  • Facilitate credit card payments as applicable
  • To assist depart managers on an as need basis


Required Skills
  • Associate degree or four-year college degree a + with a focus in one or more of the following: Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Computer Science
  • Or applicable work experience in credit, collections, cash applications, accounting, accounts payable
  • 3-5+ years work experience
  • Adherence to company and departmental policy and procedure
  • Honest and ethical with strong work ethic
  • Must provide exceptional customer service over the phone
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure while meeting critical deadlines
  • Participate and contribute to team based projects and initiatives
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of how other departments function

  • Strong system and computing skills including: SAP, Business Objects, MS Office13, On Base Document Imaging, Paymetrics
  • Shift work required in order to ensure 68 hours per week coverage among the group which includes Saturdays on a rotating basis
