Job Description


We are looking for an engineer who will be responsible for AWS infrastructure configuration and automation for our NLP bot platform. Working independently and collaboratively with the rest of the team, you’ll be responsible for helping architect, orchestrate, and automate our AWS deployment.

Responsibilities:
  • Work with development and product teams to build, configure, and optimize our AWS services, including DynamoDB, Kinesis, EC2, Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, X-ray. Recommend alternate choices and trade-offs for various design decisions.
  • Design and configure firewall and security policies
  • Design and configure system monitoring and alerting
  • Ensure end-to-end automation as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Document and work with other members of the operations team to cross-train on AWS deployments as they occur
  • Be part of an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency response
  • Investigate performance and process failures and work to improve them
  • Stay apprised of new developments in both AWS and operations, help in determining how and when those would affect and/or improve our architecture

Requirements:
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of software, devops, and/or network administrator experience
  • 4+ years’ of hands-on AWS experience
  • 2+ years of Infrastructure as Code experience
  • 2+ years’ experience working with S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Beanstalk, EC2, API Gateway, Kinesis, and other core AWS technologies.
  • Docker/ECS experience is nice to have
  • 5+ years’ experience with continuous deployment / continuous delivery using tools such as git, Maven, Bamboo, etc.
  • 5+ years experience with automation and configuration management (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc)
  • Familiarity with logging/monitoring using tools such as CloudWatch, LogStash, Kibana a plus
  • Huge bonus points for AWS Certification
