Position Objective

The Assistant Product Marketing Manager will support the efforts of product marketing group to successfully achieve market penetration and revenue goals through skills in Product Marketing and Product Management. This role will support growth initiatives in Wide Format and Packaging Market segments.

This position must be held by someone with strategic vision, has a keen understanding of customers’ needs, and can deliver proven results based on company plan initiatives. A key element of this position will be to demonstrate leadership qualities, in order to drive a message that is concise, accurate, and with measurable results.

As an Assistant Product Marketing Manager, you will guide various divisions within, charged with a product line contribution. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to working closely with the Manager, Product Marketing of Wide Format & Specialty Print to review new product / partnership opportunities for the organization.

This candidate will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand customers’ problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

This candidate must be able to communicate within all areas of the company. For example, you will work with service and engineering counterparts to define product release requirements and marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assist with tactical management of assigned product portfolio.
  • Prepare marketing position plans and assist with defining strategies for the launch & management of all assigned products.
  • Provide support for sales growth through all sales channels (Dealer & Direct)
  • Actively participate in finding ways to assist with reduction of associated costs of product launching
  • Assist with the coordination of product support mechanisms, ensure that technical training and technical support have proper information, equipment and up-to-date documentation prior to launch
  • Participate in trade-shows, meetings, trainings and seminars affecting perception, influence and sales of these products
  • Involved in customers’ visits as required
  • Travel requirement (Nationally and Internationally) up to 25%

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
  • Preferred solid market knowledge – vertical markets, product fit/applications, competitive products and pricing, but not necessary.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Preferred knowledge of SAP Business Warehouse and SAP
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while interacting with and presenting to senior management under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize requests, and complete deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership, project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and in a team environment.

Experience, Educational Reqts and Certifications
  • 4-year college degree in a business-related field and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in sales or marketing
