Job Description


The Director, Software Architecture leads the development and governance of the software architecture of all software systems. The Director defines the technical standards and processes to deliver technology solutions that are consistent with the technology roadmap. Along with the infrastructure and operations team, define the hardware environments necessary to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Establish organization-level architecture to set architecture direction and guide technology investments
  • Provide leadership in creating the technology architectural governance model and processes
  • Manage a team of architects encompassing enterprise architecture, application architecture, data architecture, integration architecture and security architecture.
  • Assess new and emerging technologies in harmony with business visions and architecture strategy
  • Define, communicate, evangelize and enforce architectural and technology standards
  • Help define the technology architecture of next generation platform
  • Provide feedback on the product roadmaps; ensure that the technology roadmap is considered
  • Formulate new shared services or utilities to be leverages across the development teams
  • Define the architecture engagement model and practices
  • Develop and implement a communications plan to keep the organization informed of architecture standards and strategies
  • Conduct architecture and design reviews for projects
  • Review/approve design of application frameworks
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing conditions and QA processes

Requirements
  • 10+ years in increasing software leadership roles and responsibility
  • 5+ years in software architecture and multi-tiered enterprise application experience
  • Strong background in hands-on software development
  • Practical experience implementing innovative technology solutions in Cloud Computing, Information Management and Web Applications in secured computing environments.
  • Proven track record of playing a senior role in an architecture group with deep knowledge in Data Architecture, SOA, Application Lifecycle Management, Design Patterns, Messaging, Mobile applications, BI and multi-tenant architecture.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with senior level engineers to design and implement highly complex, end-to-end solutions.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and technology management skills
  • Strong team leadership and collaborative skills, combined with practical experience in providing robust, scalable and flexible architecture solutions.
  • Excellent communications and consensus building skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to maintain strong team relationships
  • Respected leader with demonstrated ability to influence colleagues at every level
  • Experienced in agile delivery
