Job Description


Overview:

The Director of Sales Operations is responsible for all design, development, analysis and modeling of internal sales and commercial data. They also, working with the SVP of Global Sales and the Regional Sales VPs, determine recommended actions to drive growth and optimal business results. 

Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility for all aspects of Sales Operations for  the Company
  • Report to SVP of Global Sales, and partner with Regional Sales VPs to develop metrics and deliver line of sight and visibility to business data in consumable terms via dashboards and reports.
  • Design, implement, manage, working with SVP of Sales:
    • Customer segmentation
    • Sales Coverage models
    • Sales Process
    • Compensation programs and Target setting
    • Compensation modeling and payments
    • Reward and recognition programs
    • Sales productivity calculations
    • Sales tools including CRM (Salesforce.com) and performance scorecards (Tableau)
    • Reporting to manage the day to day business of the sales organization
    • Senior management information including data reporting (Pipeline, Forecast, Scorecards, Weekly and monthly dashboards, ad hoc analytics)
    • Analysis of Sales metrics and recommended actions for reversing negative trends
    • Recognition and collection of Best Practices across sales organization
    • Close collaboration with Finance on reporting sales (revenue, volume) results for the Company
    • Market Research
    • Industry analytics, intelligence and trending
  • Direct management of two teams responsible for sales tools/CRM and data reporting/analytics (5 direct reports)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree mandatory.  MBA a plus.  
  • Solid track record of success in sales operations – min 5 years experience, 10 preferred
  • Must have people management experience
  • Experience in Sales and/or Finance a plus
  • Knowledge of the Ocean Shipping industry a plus
  • Experience in a technology company required
  • Extensive previous experience in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales process
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce.com and Tableau required
  • Highly advanced excel skills required
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Creative, out of the box thinker
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Confidence and presence to work directly with C-level executives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, negotiating skills and decision-making, ability to influence others outside direct control (matrix management)
  • Must be a strong presenter with excellent written communications and robust financial analysis ability
