Job Summary:

The Human Capital Management (HCM) Project Manager will partner with cross-functional team members to implement various components of our HCM Talent Suite.  Working closely with and reporting to the Business Lead, this independent contributor will be tasked with asking the right questions and executing the right steps to keep the project moving forward and support successful project implementation. 

The person in this role will be accountable for driving projects to on-time completion, ensuring all aspects of the project are identified and executed, and ‘connecting the dots’ as needed.  Additionally, the Project Manager will be responsible for developing client relationships, managing expectations and becoming a trusted advisor through the course of the project.     

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generates and maintains key project documents, project plans, project workbooks, status reports, issue and resolution logs
  • Monitors the execution of all deliverables across multiple workstreams of the project
  • Manages internal and external resources and making sure the project team is capable and sized correctly to complete the project(s)
  • Establishes critical project paths, including milestones for each project and ensuring that all project phases adhere to the agreed-upon timeline
  • Partners with Project Leadership to assist in identifying obstacles that may impact project budget
  • Communicates with stakeholders, team members and others on project status, including progress, risk and any issues that may have an impact on project delivery and offers solution options
  • Manages internal client expectations and proactively closing expectation gaps
  • Plans major project phases and establishing project success factors with input from key stakeholders
  • Engages internal and external partners with requirements gathering, process design and gap analysis
  • Prepares test plans/scripts; executes test scripts; oversees and supports user acceptance testing and manages any updates to those scripts
  • Serves as a liaison with Information Technology to develop and implement new or enhanced HCM technology (e.g., interfaces, outsourced vendor arrangements, system integration, etc.)
  • Prepares and/or coordinates written and verbal materials; communicates with in an organized and knowledgeable manner; delivers clear requests for information; demonstrates flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks and communicating potential conflicts to the Business Lead 

Required Skills & Desired Knowledge:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years project management experience with both business and technology projects and in using best practice tools and methodologies
  • Experience with at least one HCM software implementation (including participating in requirements gathering process for HR systems) and knowledge of HR Talent Management Processes
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams on medium to large size projects through all phases of the project life cycle
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills and the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner to all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency using MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Knowledge of ADP Talent management solution &/or SAP Success Factors preferred
  • HCM system application administration knowledge (user management, change management, Workflow and process management) will be a plus
  • Prior consulting experience (internal or external) preferred
  • PMP certification a plus
