Job Description


Currently looking for an experienced Release Manager to join the IT team.  Reporting to the Director, IT Governance & PMO, this individual will have the opportunity to define and build our Release Management strategy and work closely with the Infrastructure & Application Development Towers as well as our newly formed SAP Center of Excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and track of all production-related activities required to support successful deployments
  • Implementation planning and dependency analysis for both major and maintenance release cycles
  • Identify risks, cross application dependencies and downstream impacts per release
  • Establish and communicate master release schedule
  • Design and implement efficient procedures for the distribution and implementation of IT changes into production
  • Facilitate issue tracking and resolution of post go live activities where required
  • Manage scope and schedule of releases
  • Creation and communication of release status, implementation scorecard and executive status reporting
  • Assist in the prioritization of enhancements and changes into release packages
  • Develop process for emergency and exception releases
  • Participate in weekly Change Advisory Board meetings
  • Consolidate and publish Release Notes for each deployment
  • Ensure compliance with IT processes including proper documentation, reviews and approvals of related changes
  • Provide timely escalation to IT Leadership where necessary/appropriate

Requirements:
  • Capacity to work in a non-structured environment and help in building structure into IT processes
  • Ability to manage by influence within and across various IT disciplines
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Effective oral and written communications
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Excel
  • Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies
  • Experience managing releases within an ERP or SAP environment
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Minimum 5 years Release Management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
