Job Summary

Currently looking for an experienced Lead SharePoint Specialist to join the IT team. Reporting to the Director, Applications/Development. This position is responsible for assisting in the creation of the company’s SharePoint architecture roadmap as well as the development and on-going maintenance and administration of the corporate SharePoint environment.  This includes responsibility for planning, developing and administering a SharePoint environment consistent with the overall corporate standards for collaborative data storage and access. Critical success factors include providing technical support for the SharePoint environment including assessment and implementation of new capabilities, and ownership of the IT roadmap defining the use of SharePoint capabilities in support of business needs and initiatives.

 

 
  • Creation of the design and implementation strategy and plan of a SP 2010/2013 enterprise solution which identifies gaps/overlaps between the as-is and to-be SharePoint environments by process/function
  • Looking for 80% Development and 20% Administration
  • Responsible for the enterprise wide architecture and deployment of the resulting SharePoint environment
  • Implementation of best practice approaches in defining a strategy for SharePoint solutions as well as provide guidance for other common tasks like solution migration from other collaboration tools currently in use
  • Appropriately analyze different approaches to assess trade-offs among architectural\design goals
  • Develop and present technical solutions with a view toward broader (future) SP implementations across the environment
  • Support Intranet sites built on SharePoint 2013
  • Manage system security, system patching and upgrades
  • Deploy custom developed and third-party SharePoint solution packages
  • Configure SharePoint services and settings
  • Document SharePoint configurations and architecture
  • Manage site quotas and file size limits
  • Review and monitor usage reports
  • Manage content databases and create new ones as required
  • Administer and maintain sites and sub-sites
  • Manage security for sites and sub-sites
  • Manage the site layout structure and content
  • Monitor and identify issues regarding compliance with SP standards
  • Provide SharePoint support to end users

Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in Information Technology
  • TS, ITP, MCSE or other MS certifications are a plus
  • 2-4 years’ experience Developing and Administering SharePoint environments

 

Skills\Experience
  • Significant experience with SharePoint 2010 and 2013
  • Consistent use and experience with SharePoint Services/Portal Server
  • Strong knowledge and experience in custom SharePoint workflow(s)
  • Solid understanding of SharePoint architecture including site collections, user profiles, tags and categories, audiences, permissions, site templates, design layouts, master pages, and list libraries
  • Knowledge of Windows Server
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Networking and Support
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven analytical skills with information systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of information security and systems administration
