JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Job Summary

 

The Program Manager is an essential member of the Program Management Office (PMO) and will report to the Portfolio Manager.  The Program Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the overall planning, execution and delivery of all deliverables across multiple manufacturing, sales and/or logistics program work streams of high complexity through building and leading effective teams, managing project issues and risks and closely monitoring and controlling projects.
 

Responsibilities

 
  • Monitoring execution of all deliverables across multiple manufacturing, sales and/or logistics program work streams
  • Managing internal and external resources and making sure the program has the necessary skill sets to complete each of the defined work streams
  • Recommend the related training required to ensure the effective application of Project Management principles
  • Mentor other Project Managers in aspects of the Project Management profession
  • Establishing the program’s overall critical path and ensuring that all phases adhere to the agreed-upon timeline
  • Follows the standard PMI framework associated with Project Delivery (ie Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, Closing) or other PMO defined Project Lifecycle
  • Assisting project team in troubleshooting and finding solutions to unforeseen issues
  • Financial Management of program
  • Communicating with stakeholders, team members and others on project status, including progress, risk and any issues that may have an impact on project delivery
  • Managing customer expectations and proactively closing expectation gaps
  • Taking ownership of, managing and obtaining approvals for all change requests, particularly regarding scope and budget
  • Planning major program phases and establishing success factors with input from key stakeholders
  • Prioritizing risks and their impacts for mitigation / monitoring
  • Champion the PMO by ensuring that projects are executed under the PMO’s strategic guidelines, standards, development methodology and governance practices.
  • Work with key stakeholders to define and measure project success

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
 

Education

 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required
  • MBA or other Advanced degree

 

 

Knowledge, Skill and Experience

 
  • 10+ years of broad Project Management experience which must include the management of at least one program of interrelated projects in manufacturing, sales and/or logistics through all phases of the life cycle
  • 3+ years in a management position
  • Demonstrated mastery of Project Management skills using traditional Project Management, Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodologies
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) preferred
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred 
  • Proficient with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Strong Analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrated influential leadership skills with the ability to facilitate relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to deliver Sr. Management level presentations
  • Strong Conflict Resolution skills
  • Excellent relationship manager with strong negotiating skills
