Job Description


SAP BODS Development Lead is a hands-on expert for design, development, maintenance and support of application solutions, integration, reporting and business intelligence systems using SAP BODS with over 5 years of experience in consulting and managing implementation, support and upgrade projects.

SAP BODS Development Lead will be responsible for enhancing, maintaining and supporting the data integration processes, data migration and Master Data Governance procedures using complex SAP Data Services job flows to extract from or load into SAP systems such as SAP ECC, CRM, SCM, BW, HANA as well as non-SAP systems

This role will be accountable for in-depth SAP BODS knowledge to support design and development of complex integration processes by developing new interfaces, resolving defects, providing assistance in solving end user problems, answering development-related questions, and testing/validating development effort.
  • Formulate and define best practice programming standards that meet regulatory compliance requirements for Implementation, Support and Upgrade Projects.
  • Working closely with Functional Leads to determine optimal programming solutions to functional requirements in O2C, R2R and P2P process areas.
  • Ability to independently contribute ideas and recommendations to the continuous improvement process of the ERP team.
  • Perform systems analysis, configuration, requirements gathering, unit and integration testing, as well as application of OSS notes and support of interfaces between SAP and other non-SAP applications.
  • Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
  • Working closely with Testing/QA Lead to execute system unit testing and supporting integration testing and regression testing.
  • Research, develop & implement solutions using established SDLC methodology.
  • Provide BODS technical support for patch and release upgrades.
  • Document and maintain a solution portfolio and identify opportunities for solution re-use.
  • Identifies opportunities to re-engineer existing solutions to better utilize technology, optimize performance, and simplify support.
  • Manage and coordinate work of consultants when necessary.

Qualifications
  • Experience with BODS 4.2 and past experience with older versions (3.x, 4.0 or 4.1)
  • SAP Data Services design, development and implementation experience with at least 2 full life cycle implementations.
  • Experience in ETL jobs design and development experience using SAP and non-SAP data sources which includes but not limited to SQL Server, Exadata, SAP BW, SAP ECC, SAP CRM, SAP HANA.
  • Knowledge of the ASAP project methodology or a related project methodology. Knowledge of Agile methodology is a plus.
  • Experience with the flat files as a source and target over the network paths is preferred.
  • Experience with Handling File encryption, special characters with BODS custom functions, handling huge data in heterogeneous environments.
  • Integrating Process/File dependencies/File watch process automation and handling multiple large files at a time.
  • Knowledge of HANA modeling is a strong plus.
  • Experience of working with Information Steward is required.
  • Experience with Delta merge/force merge to handle bulk loads.
  • Develop application support documentation as required by the application support teams for acceptance of systems changes into production.
  • Self-motivated, team player with ability to work and manage offshore resources.
  • Ability and experience of working in a transforming environment.
  • Excellent Analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service organization and conflict management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field of study from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience.
