Job Description


Seeking a Senior Delphi developer to join our Color Technology Software team at our product R&D facility in Flanders, NJ.

Responsibilities
  • Customize Delphi Windows applications, design SQL Server database schemas and develop stored procedures and DTS packages.
  • Perform unit testing and troubleshooting of Delphi Windows applications utilizing SQL Server and Access databases.
  • Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, determining areas of improvement and general debugging.
  • Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
  • Liaise with QA team to assist in resolving problems with custom software products and company software systems.
  • Collaborate with lab technicians and business stakeholders to define functional scope, deliverables and accurate development project timelines.
  • Collaborate with various OEM lab equipment vendors in order to develop and test plug-ins for vendor supplied drivers and APIs.
  • Create technical documents for software products using software such as Visio, Word and Excel.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience designing/developing Delphi Windows applications and SQL Server database schemas and stored procedures (T-SQL).
  • Ability to complete all phases of software development life cycle including analysis, design, functionality, testing and support.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Required Skills:
  • Delphi 6 or higher (Object Oriented Pascal)
  • Adherence to Object Oriented design principles and patterns
  • SQL Server 2000 or higher
  • MS Access 2000 or higher (Jet Engine)
  • T-SQL and stored procedures
  • DTS package development
  • Logical and physical RDBMS data modeling
  • ADO and ODBC connectivity
  • COM (inproc)
  • XML
  • Experience developing custom lab/scientific software and plug-ins which leverage drivers for industrial/lab equipment
  • Experience with Process Control software for industrial/lab equipment
  • Experience developing software that utilizes USB and serial communication protocols
  • TCP/IP network communications. 
  • Experience utilizing asynchronous threads
  • Experience with source control/ALM software such as MKS Source Integrity
  • Experience with software versioning and release management

Experience with the following is a plus:
  • Color Science experience
  • C# .NET
  • .NET Framework 3.5 or higher
  • SOAP and WCF web services
  • JSONP
  • Visual Studio 2010 or higher
