Job Description


Position Description:

The WebSphere Engineer will be responsible for supporting/enhancing the web infrastructure and specialized software including IBM WebSphere Application Server,WebSphere Portal and WebSphere  BPM products.  (S)he is responsible for identifying and resolving problems using structured troubleshooting methods, techniques, and tools in addition to recommending/implementing new configurations, upgrades, etc.

This will require close coordination with other departments within Systems and with external vendors during problem analysis/resolution.  The Engineer will be responsible for tuning performance and maintaining technical specifications and Systems documentation per standards.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Ongoing maintenance/support of the entire web infrastructure including the production Internet and intranet sites.  This includes performing regularly scheduled maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting problems and performance tuning, addressing security issues, and developing/implementing standards, policies, and procedures.
  • IBM BPM Installation, Configuration, Support and Troubleshooting including Process Center, Process Server and Deployment manager
  • Liaise with other Systems support personnel on hardware and software upgrades and open issues.

 

Requirements:
  • Administrative experience in Websphere AppServer, Portal and BPM products
  • IBM BPM 8.0/8.5 Administration Experience.
  • Good understanding of J2EE application, experience with Java web development is an advantage
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving software problems and conflicts.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support and after-hours support rotation responsibilities as needed
  • Strong verbal communication skills; ability to work well in a team environment, organize multiple deliverables, and respond to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

 

Additional Skills:
  • A broad knowledge of technologies including the following:
  • RHEL, Windows, z/Linux, Solaris
  • IIS, Apache Tomcat and WebLogic
  • F5 Local Traffic Manager
  • Tivoli ITCAM, NimSoft and SiteMinder
